RV & camper tips
Piñon Flats Campground takes RVs up to ~35-40 ft (no hookups); the main road and Medano Pass are soft-sand — 4x4 only beyond the campground.
Camping
NPS-operated campgrounds are available (reservations recommended in peak season).
