The "arrive-charge" rule for EV camping

The single most important principle of EV camping is what experienced campers call the arrive-charge rule: arrive at your campsite with enough battery to run climate control overnight, drive back to a reliable charger, and still have a safety margin.

The formula is: Arrival charge needed = overnight climate drain + miles to nearest charger (converted to %) + 15% safety buffer. In mild weather with a fast charger 30 miles away, that might mean arriving with as little as 40%. In freezing weather with the nearest charger 60 miles away, you might need 65% or more.
